How To Let Oil Paintings Dry Quicker.

FREE_video_reveals2

Oil paintings dry by oxidation. Therefore using a fan won’t work. However it’s still possible to accelerate the oxidation proces in another way.

If you’re painting and you’re mixing some colors, you can add just a tiny little bit of cobalt to it. Not enough to change the color, but even a tiny bit will shorten the drying time considerably.

You can buy that stuff in bottles, but cobalt is also in cobalt blue, cereleum blue, in cobalt yellow and a few more colors.

Check it out.

Another paint that I advise you to use anyway, umber, has the same effect. Add a little bit of umber to mix of normally slow drying paints ( for example the cadmiums ), and your painting will be touchdry real quick.
